Etna Interactive, a  leading online medical and aesthetic marketing firm based in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a remote Paid Search Specialist. The Paid Search Specialist possesses a generalized understanding of digital marketing and is strong in SEO and SEM. They have a strong desire and aptitude to deploy their skills in paid search, display, video, and social media platforms. High attention to detail and accuracy is critical in this role, as this individual will be responsible for managing live campaigns with particularly stringent guidelines specific to our clients’ specialties. Critical thinking, humility, and the ability to ask questions and learn are key elements of success in this role. This individual must also be highly adaptable with a balance of big picture creative thinking and process efficiency.

Responsibilities Include:

  • PPC Campaign Creation & Management:
    • Daily management of all client PPC campaigns, paid program accounts, and paid directory sponsorships, including ads, placements, bidding, and spend.
    • Ongoing account optimization, including the following as appropriate to the channel being managed: structure improvements, target improvements (geo, demographic, day-parting, keyword, and URL), frequency caps, search query reporting, keyword expansion, use of negative keywords, and improvement of bid management processes and algorithms.
    • Testing and optimizing visitor experiences, including ad messaging, selecting the appropriate landing page for each segment of traffic (by adjusting destination URLs including associated parameters that trigger customization of landing page experiences), and working closely with Paid Media Strategist and other teams in a cross functional manner (engineering, development, etc.).
    • Maintaining expertise in keyword research (including techniques and applicable tools).
  • Growth, Research & Development:
    • Maintaining skilled competency in paid media programs and ensure best practices alignment by tracking and reporting ongoing results to marketing management team.
    • Supporting the Paid Media Team in monitoring and researching trends in online media and paid programs as well as emerging trends in SEO/SEM to improve strategies, practices, and approaches and innovate new products, and ensure the successful implementation of those ideas as approved by management.
    • Monitoring the competitive landscape for products, including competitors’ ad creative, landing page and conversion funnel paths, as well as provide insight into competitors’ impact on our volume, cost, and performance in the paid search space, and report findings and proposed tactical changes to Paid Media Manager.
    • Collaborating with Paid Media Team and other departments including copy, design, development, and engineering to create, launch, and track results of new products such as landing pages and conversion funnels.
    • Developing strong partnerships with vendors including Google, Facebook, and Optmyzer to maximize and fully capitalize on the support and involvement of their representatives, and to keep abreast of beta programs, product releases, and new available features.
    • Assisting in the development of existing products and help to identify new product opportunities.
