How do I make sure my email settings are correct in Microsoft Outlook?

This post shows the correct settings in Microsoft Outlook for your e-mail account. We reference screen shots from Microsoft Outlook 2003, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook so you should be able to reference this even if you are using a different version of Outlook, or even Outlook Express.

Checking your Microsoft Outlook Settings on Your Desktop Computer

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, select Tools > E-mail Accounts.

  2. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select “View or change existing e-mail accounts” and click Next.

  3. Choose your email account.

  4. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, make sure that the server settings are as follows:Incoming mail server (POP3)Your incoming mail server should be pop.etnainteractive.com. If you see something else here, please update it now.

    Outgoing mail server (SMTP)

    Your outgoing mail server should be smtp.etnainteractive.com. If you see something else here, please update it now.

  5. Click the “More Settings” button, located in the lower right corner of the Email Accounts window.

  6. Select the “Advanced” tab at the top. In this window, make sure that the “Leave a copy of messages on the server” box is NOT checked and click OK.
  7. Click Next.

  8. Click Finish.
