It’s Time to Put Mobile First

2017 is shaping up to be the year of the mobile device. As we mentioned earlier this year, Google is turning its attention — and its good graces —  to sites that perform well on mobile. With 68% of healthcare searches being done on mobile devices, it’s no wonder sites with superior mobile performance are ranking well.

If you’re an Etna Interactive web design client, you can rest easy knowing that your site is already designed to perform well on both desktop and mobile devices. But if you’re not, there are a couple of ways you can ensure your site maintains, or even improves, its ranking:

– Ask Google for help: Google offers a mobile-friendly test tool, which analyzes your site’s mobile compatibility and breaks down how it can improve.

– See for yourself: Nothing beats firsthand knowledge. Take a look at your website on a phone, and try it on both Apple and Android platforms, if possible. Pay attention to the ease of navigation, the time it takes each page to load, and its overall usability.

Soon, your site’s rankings will hinge on mobile performance. In this video, Ryan brings you up-to-date on the latest from Google.
